First Lady of Panama visits IHC

Dubai – The First Lady of Panama, Lorena Castillo García de Varela, visited the International Humanitarian City (IHC) today. She was welcomed by the Minister of State and Member of IHC Board of Directors, H.E. Reem Al Hashimy.

The First Lady toured IHC warehouse showrooms where representatives from various member organisations gave an overview of their work and stocks in Dubai. IHC CEO, Giuseppe Saba also presented to the Panamanian delegation IHC latest innovation, the Humanitarian Logistics Databank.

The Humanitarian Logistics Databank provides the humanitarian community with a common database platform on humanitarian aid stocks and flow, to enhance emergency preparedness and response.

It was developed under the coordination of IHC and launched in Dubai during the World Government Summit 2018 by the United Nations Messenger of Peace and Chairperson of the International Humanitarian City, IHC, Princess Haya bint Al Hussein, wife of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It will be replicated in other humanitarian hubs in subsequent years.
