Head of Marketing and Communications with experience in the humanitarian field

Communications; Humanitarian Logistics services; and Humanitarian Programs & Initiatives are the 3 core services that constitute the Operations Department at IHC.

The Communication arm is responsible for presenting and promoting IHC internally and externally, in addition to the services provided to IHC members, prospective members, the broader philanthropic community, and beyond.

The Communications team shall ensure that marketing, visibility and communication tools, including social, are efficiently and effectively utilized to promote IHC and its members through a variety of platforms which correctly reflect the objectives, vision and mission of IHC. Communications Service shall seek to increase awareness about IHC its activities as well as those of its members. The s shall ensure consistency in messaging across all forms of communication; internal corporate level communications as well as communications to external audiences. The head of Communications shall liaise with all communication services of the IHC humanitarian community, and any external media representative and outlet.

The head of communication has the responsibility of overseeing the communications team, and managing the Flash studio, as well supervising social media activities and productions of documents, and press release. The head of communication is also responsible for preparing a submit the draft of IHC communication strategy as well as its implementation plan.

Mandatory requirements:

  • 10 years of experience in the field of communication out of which at least 2 years in the humanitarian field communication
  • Proficiency in writing and speaking at least Arabic and English
  • Master degree in Communication or International Relations or Humanitarian studies
  • Subject to travel upon short notice
  • Submission of CV not later than 16th January 2020

IHC is looking to hire an ambitious Marketing and Communications executive with some experience in the humanitarian field

The Marketing & Communication arm is responsible for presenting and promoting IHC internally and externally, in addition to the services provided to IHC members, prospective members, the broader philanthropic community, and beyond.

Job purpose:

  • Develop strong media relations
  • Enhance digital and community outreach plans and initiatives that improve the impact and effectiveness of IHC’s visibility and coverage of its project and issues
  • Create editorial calendars based on relevant industry topics
  • Monitor, analyze and update traditional and digital coverage, including IHC website and social media channels
  • Produce and disseminate original content for internal and external publication (annual report, press release, video script, brochures, etc.)
  • Co-organize and coordinate community outreach, visits, and public events to raise awareness of IHC
  • Contribute to developing and implementing communication strategies and budgets
  • Attain to members’ requests with regards to communication needs and support

Vacancy Announcement for Position: Videographer – Broadcaster Technician

Project: “Flash Studio Lab”

Type of employment: Full-time with six months mandatory probationary period

IHC launched last year the Flash Studio Project to support the humanitarian community in having access to connectivity, broadcast services, and media content both in Dubai and the field.

Competencies for this job relate not only to technical skills but also to your ability to think creatively, work dynamically with team members and other humanitarian organisations to optimize the use of new technologies to promote the IHC and the UAE.

Shortly, the most relevant duties are:

  • Produce short-form and medium-length video content, including from on-location productions to text-on-video social cuts.
  • Refine and develop a presentation of IHC content on YouTube, Facebook (including Facebook Watch), Instagram, and IHC’s website.
  • Produce video shoots: manage the scope of the project, assemble talent and crew, provide project estimates.
  • Manage and execute the technical aspects of IHC’s Flash Studio video, including maintaining of all equipment, audio mixing, color correction, format conversion, and file management, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Identify original and intelligent storytelling opportunities. Assemble a narrative arc of videos.
  • Research, source, and license video and photo content to be used as b-roll from stock agencies, wire services, and private individuals for videos when needed.
  • Maintain and ensure the reliability of IHC’s Flash Studio, both hardware/software and connectivity systems – i.e., GSM aggregators, Satellite terminal.

This job requires also travelling to the field, in emergency areas affected by natural disasters and or complex emergencies, to increase IHC visibility. Fluency in English is a must. Knowledge of Arabic and/or other languages is desirable.

Vacancy Announcement: Logistics Expert

IHC is looking to hire an expert on humanitarian logistics

Humanitarian Logistics services and Humanitarian Programs & Initiatives, together with Marketing & Communication are the 3 core services that constitute the Operations Department at IHC.

Humanitarian Logistics and initiatives are part of our Emergency Preparedness & Response cooperation with our members as well as the support in the SDGs.

Job purpose :

  • Assist members in their logistics operations
  • Enhance innovation and sustainability in the emergency prep and response
  • Support the Registration and Licensing Committee in evaluating applications
  • Support the Emergency Task Force
  • Support the development of the Humanitarian Logistics Data Bank
  • Participate and coordinate community outreach, visits, and public events to raise awareness of IHC
  • Contribute to developing and implementing strategies
  • Attain to members’ requests with regards to Logistics and humanitarian initiatives

Requirements:

  • English and Arabic fluent
  • Master degree in Logistics or International or Humanitarian studies
  • At least 5 years of experience in logistics out of which at least one year of experience spent in the humanitarian field
  • Subject to travel upon short notice
