Watani Al-Emarat establishment and Dubai’s International Humanitarian City (IHC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to create an official partnership between Watani Al-Emarat and IHC. The partnership aims for both parties to work together in order to promote and support the best practices for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of humanitarian and development programs through the provision of information and advice of experts, documenting, training and capacity-building, ,  and supporting relevant businesses that support the sector.

The MoU was signed by HE Dherar Belhoul Al Falasi, Director General of Watani Al-Emarat, and HE Shaima Al Zarooni, CEO of IHC.

HE Dherar Belhoul Al Falasi,  commented by saying: “the MoU aims for cooperating on the implementation of a range of joint projects and activities  in the field of development and humanitarian aid.”

He added: “The parties targeted are the institutions, government and semi- governmental and humanitarian organizations, local charities and international humanitarian organizations registered in the United Arab Emirates.”

Al Falasi also added that the MoU seeks to coordinate joint activities which serve the goals consolidated in the areas of training and building capabilities  related to best practices in the field of  development and humanitarian work, including short courses, workshops, conferences, and special events in this area to support the cooperation in the development of national affiliation .

He pointed out that this can be achieved through the cultural development, the preparation of studies and research and opinion polls,  through finding and evaluating the different practices in the field of development and humanitarian work and activities to disseminate information to the public to raise awareness and publicize the achievements of both institutions.

HE Shaima Al Zarooni stated: “We are extremely delighted to formally establish a link with “Watani” and its dedicated team. IHC and “Watani” are key players within the UAE’s diverse and multicultural society, and we look forward to working with “Watani” on joint projects that will reflect on our unified principles and the UAE legacy of humanitarianism and giving back to the community.”

The agreement comes in line with the efforts of Watani Al Emarat to achieve its goals of promoting, consolidating and enriching the national identity in the UAE, introducing the values of community in the UAE, and developing the values and practices of good citizenship among the members of the community, governmental and private institutions. Watani Al Emarat is working to build and manage the system and standards of sustainability and social development as well as preparing public surveys and opinion polls that are studied and researched to evaluate and measure the levels of national and institutional belonging and loyalty among all members of the community, in addition to strengthening the partnerships between the various social institutions to serve the noble national goals which aligns with the orientation and vision of the UAE government .
